The presently planned conservation areas highlighted below include about 210
acres of the 555 acre tract. The boundaries as planned based on
recommendations of ecoconsultants were based on the need for a contiguous
area, protection of more valuable northfacing slopes, steep coves, and land
surrounding streams. The area also straddles 2 watersheds. Laurel Creek in
the center of the tract, and Williamson Creek in the Northwest. It therefore
provides a potential wildlife migration route between these 2 watersheds.
It includes most areas that have potential rare species. |
