Fly Fishing
Transylvania Country (encompassing Brevard and Sylvan Habitat) is well known for its abundant fly-fishing opportunities. Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout can be found in the areas numerous streams-some accessible by automobile, some secluded inside the Pisgah National Forest or Dupont State Forest. North Carolina regulations provide for year-round catch-and-release fishing. A seven-trout catch limit is in effect from April through February.
